ILOILO CITY, March 10 (PNA) — Iloilo City will host for the first time the “Kooperabalitaan sa CDA,” a venue where concerns affecting cooperatives is being tackled, on March 14.
Kooperabalitaan sa CDA was conceptualized wayback in 2016 to build and promote the image of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and promote as well cooperatives as vehicles for socio-economic development, said Mercy J. Gabasa, senior cooperative development specialist for the CDA-Iloilo extension office, on Friday.
For the first time, the activity will be held in this city which has about 100 multi-purpose cooperatives.
Last year, it was hosted by the municipality of Dumangas, Iloilo and Roxas City, Capiz.
Discussions for the one-day activity Tuesday next week will focus on the state of the cooperative movement, latest CDA issuances, gender and development (GAD) mainstreaming in cooperatives and savings mobilization and capital build-up program.
There will also be a compliance review on CDA mandatory reports in the afternoon.
The event that will be held at the P. Trenas Hall of the Agriculture Building at Macario Peralta Street here is in partnership with the with Iloilo City Cooperative Development Council (ICCDC) & Federation of Iloilo City Cooperatives (FEDICCO).
The Kooperabalitaan sa CDA is also a venue to share the best practices of cooperatives and other information relevant to the cooperative sector.
“It is supportive of the Philippine Roadmap for Cooperative Development that anchors on the realization of collective vision and mission of the cooperative sector, which is Transformative Cooperative for People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Purpose,” she explained. (PNA)
