ILOILO CITY, April 21 (PNA) -– The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has launched its project on quality management system on vessel entrance and clearance on Monday with full implementation on April 28 by paving the way for an ISO certification of excellence.
PPA Iloilo Port manager Manuel Boholano said the unveiling of the PPA quality policy is expected to enhance the quality of services at the Iloilo Port Complex in Loboc, Barangay Obrero with an efficient cargo vessel entrance and available space clearance for port users.
The Iloilo Port Complex was considered as a top port in the country for Port Safety on Health Environment and Standards (PSHEAS) in 2013. It is currently aiming for a quality management system for facilitation of vessel entrance and clearance process.
Boholano said the Loboc port complex is largely a container yard for cargo vessels and caters to at least three local cargo ships and one foreign vessel unloading their commercial cargo everyday.
Iloilo is included in the list of top commercial ports in the country such as Batangas, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, Davao and Gen. Santos. (PNA)
